RTB Operation Hamble (take 2)

Well, the now legendary blankers Otis and Rod travelled down to the Hamble last Friday night with high hopes. A fresh supply of live peeler had arrived by post from up north that morning, we had live rag from http://www.poingdestres.co.uk/ …..we couldn’t fail. But if this RTB outfit is anything it’s consistent. After 4 solid hours of flogging and flapping, all we’d achieved was to supply the estuary with a steady stream of bait. Hours spent in search of a seabass now running at 68 combined. (Time taken from the moment Rod bopped a ‘well’ below-minimum-size bass on the head last summer and subsequently cursed the party). Anyway, much fun was had as always, looking forward to seeing what fishing is like when you actually catch fish though…..

what the current team need is a new Referee, less of the Norwegian style. instead of conservation fishing we need a hard hat “eat my hook” approach. it went wrong at xmas when we spent too much time reading instead of getting the hook in. where is Barbel . lets hope we approach the 69th hour from the right end.
